RVSD Board Meeting August 18 2026

NEW BETHLEHEM – At its August 18 meeting, the Redbank Valley School District Board of Directors considered adding a security officer.

The board approved a motion to review a contract with the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department for an additional security officer or police officer. This action came after the board approved an agreement with the department at its last meeting for a school resource officer. An addendum to the contract with Bramlet Security, the firm that currently provides security personnel, was tabled.

During public comment at the start of the meeting, local resident Rob Alexander shared how his daughter has grown as a soccer player under the coaching of AJ Blose. Blose said community members had concerns over his potential appointment as a junior high soccer volunteer. “Only one or two people in a community of thousands brought this up.” Blose said, referring to the concerns raised. Later in the meeting, Blose was approved for the position.

Board member John Sayers shared concerns about the bleachers at the football field. A portion of the bleachers damaged last season has still not been repaired. Athletic Director Matt Darr said he is pursuing repair estimates but has not received any responses.
